My Story ~ A Family Affair

I live with my husband Terry in a small town nestled in the majestic Canadian rockies and am continually awestruck by the beauty and healing presence of nauture.
I am deeply committed to ongoing learning, pursuing a balanced and soul nurturing life and creating a safe and authentic space for those I am honoured to walk alongside in my coaching practice.

Some things that bring me joy.....
-
sharing precious time with family and friends.
-
adventures with our 2 adult sons and their partners.
-
digging in my garden on a warm spring day.
-
a sunset walk at the ocean
-
exploring new places on my bicycle
-
the challenge of a new knitting or sewing project.
My journey with chronic health challenges began in early adulthood when I started experiencing a wide range of symptoms, including food sensitivities, chemical and light sensitivities, IBS, headaches, fatigue, and skin issues.
Spanning several decades, I travelled a path that I know is familiar to many of you, an ongoing search for what would improve my symptoms and health. I explored countless approaches, practitioners, and protocols. Some things helped me manage, while many others felt like they made very little difference.
Over the years, I learned to manage my symptoms and adapt my life around what my body could tolerate. With a highly restricted diet and ongoing efforts to find the right combination of tools and support, I became skilled at coping, but often felt like I wasn't truly thriving.
And then much later, my path toward improved health came as a result of searching for answers for our teenage son, Riley. At the age of 15 he began experiencing debilitating symptoms that left him bedridden for several years. Like so many families facing chronic health challenges, we were desperate to understand what was happening and find a way to help him heal.
After many diagnoses, endless appointments, and trying numerous treatment approaches, Riley thankfully reached a more stable place. We were incredibly grateful that his health was improving, but he was still struggling with symptoms that really limited him from getting back to a full and thriving life. We knew there was still something missing.
It was during this time that we were introduced to brain retraining through the Dynamic Neural Retraining System (DNRS). We began to understand the powerful connection between the brain, nervous system and symptoms and how addressing the root cause could ultimately lead to healing.
Riley committed himself to the practice of self-directed neuroplasticity, and slowly, inch by inch, his symptoms began to fall away. It felt truly miraculous to see him engaging with life again.
As he started experiencing greater freedom and wellbeing, I realized something profound....these tools were something I needed for my own health challenges as well.
Years of coping with chronic symptoms, combined with the emotional and physical demands of being a full-time caregiver to a very ill child, had taken a significant toll. I was experiencing fatigue, anxiety, chronic pain, food sensitivities, and the effects of prolonged stress and trauma. I came to understand that my brain and nervous system had become stuck in patterns of protection and survival.
Discovering neuroplasticity and nervous system regulation changed not only our son's life but my own health journey as well.
I am deeply grateful for the way our family's story of healing unfolded allowing us to move from a place of survival to embracing life with fullness and ease again.
Brain retraining has been a life-changing journey for our family, and it continues to fuel my passion for helping others find their own path toward healing.
